Informationflowisthekeyfactorinsupplychainmanagement.Generalinformationflowoftenisincustomerandsupplydepartmentorders,inventorymanagement,delivery,deliveryanddistributionproducedbysuchprocess.Inthepast,thisinformationflowisconfinedtotheestablishmentinthemanualandsemiautomaticbasis,resultinginalowefficiency,informationnotreliabilityenhancement,aswellasinformationtomisleadandleadstothepredictionthattheimprecision,therebyincreasingtheinventory,transportation,returnsandothercosts,reducecustomersatisfaction.

Withtheformationofglobaleconomicintegration,thecompetitionbetweenenterpriseandenterprisebreaksthroughthecountryandareaisbecomingmoreandmorefierce,atthesametimetheconsumerdemandisdiverse,personalizeddirection.Enterprisesshouldmaketheadvantagepositioninthecompetition,mustchangethetraditionalinformationsystem,theuseofadvancedinformationtechnology,supplychainoptimizationandreorganization,realizesthesupplychaininformationsharingoneachnode,therebyshorteningtheleadtime,reduceinventorylevels,improvethehandlingandtransportefficiency,reducedeliverytime,improvetheorderanddeliveryaccuracyaswellastheanswertothecustomeravarietyofinformationsuchastarget,improvethecompetitionofthewholesupplychain.Thedevelopmentofinformationtechnologyandcontinuouslyreducecosts,sothattheobjectivesofsupplychainmanagementbecomepossible.Manycompanieshavewithcustomersandsuppliersarecomputerandcomputerlinks,throughmultimediatechnology,timely,accuratetransmissionofimage,soundandtextandotherinformation,iseasyfordataaccess,soastoimprovetheoperationofsupplychainandcustomersatisfaction.

Logisticstechnologyandlogisticsofthewholeprocessofimplementationofcloselyrelated,thelogisticstechniquelevelisdirectlyrelatedtotheleveloflogisticsactivitiesoftherealizationofeachfunctionandperfect,inrelationtothelogisticscost.Logisticstechnologyandlogisticsactivitiesinallofprofessionalandtechnicalterm,includingmoderntransportationtechnology,automatedwarehousingtechnology,automatedhandlingtechnology,packagingtechnology,circulationprocessingtechnology,identificationtechnology,real-timetrackingofgoodsgoodstechnologyhardwaretechnologyandlogisticsplanning,evaluation,design,strategyandotheraspectsofsofttechnology,moreoveralsoincludesmobilecommunicationtechnology,globalpositioningsystem(GPS),geographicalinformationtechnology(GIS),barcodetechnology(BC),radiofrequencytechnology(RF)andEDI,etc..Ifnoneofthesemoderntechniqueshavenomodernlogistics.

Acomprehensivesystemoflogisticstechnologydevelopmentdirection.Whichtransportationisdevelopinginthedirectionofdiversification,high-speed,large-scaleandspecializedinenergysaving,environmentalprotection,andputforwardmorestrictrequirements.Modernwarehousingideafromstaticmanagementtodynamicmanagement,modernwarehousehasbecomethepromotionofthelinkequilibriumrunningofdistributioncenter,warehousestructurerepresentativeofthechangeishighlyautomatedstorageandhandlingarecombinedintoawholetopshelfsystem,shelfcanbeupto30to40metershigh,pricesofgoodsupto200000~300000,usethecomputercentralizedcontrol;automaticstorage,usedforinspectionandinventorymanagementofhigh-speedautomaticsortingsystem(Automated-Sorting-System)andautomaticstorageandretrievalsystem(ASRS-automated-storage-and-retrieval-systems)isreducedbecauseofthelargehumaninterventionwhichledtothewarehousemanagementmistakes.Becauseofthecomplexityofthetransportation,handlingtechniqueandthecorrespondingequipmentshowsdiversification,AGV(automated-guided-vehicles,usuallytranslatedasautomaticguidedvehicles),LGV(1aser-guided-vehicles,usuallytranslatedaslaserguidedvehicle),AHV(autonomous-handling-vehicle,usuallytranslatedasintelligenttransportationvehicles),andtherobotmanipulatoralsostartedinthisfieldgetapplication.Newpackagingmaterialsoflighterweight,bettermechanicalperformance,qualitymorestable,cheaperprices.

Followingabriefintroductiontothebarcodetechnology,EDI,GIS,GPSapplicationinlogisticsfield.

Inlogisticsactivities,inordertoquickly,accuratelyidentifycommodity,automaticallyreadtherelevantcommodityinformation,barcodetechnologyiswidelyused.Thebarcodeisagroupofdigitstorepresenttheinformationofcommodity,iscurrentlyontheinternationallogisticsmanagementinacommonlyusedtechnicalmeans.Barcodetechnologytoimprovetheefficiencyofinventorymanagementisverysignificant,istherealizationofinventorymanagementofelectronictechniqueisanimportantmeans,canmaketheenterprisetotheinventorycontrolextendstovendors,inventorysupplychainnetworkcontrol.

Barcodesymboltypetermedcodesystem,varioustypesofbarcodesymbolbytheconsistentwiththecoderule"ofthe"and"empty",haveafixedcapacityandcharacter.Nowtheinternationallyrecognizedcodeownershiphasthreekinds,namely:

Barcodeforcommodityandlogisticsbarcode2.2.

Barcodetouseforprintingdirectlyoncommoditybarcodeonthepackagingandprintinginlabelbarcodeonthe.Accordingtotheintendeduseisdividedintocommoditybarcodeandlogisticsbarcode.

(1)barcodeforcommodity.Commoditybarcodeisbasedondirectsalestoconsumersofthegoodsastheobject,withasinglecommodityforunitsusingabarcode,isEAN(European-Article-Number),UPC(Universal-Product-Code)series.Theyareprintedinalength4cm,width2.5cmrectangularbox,whichhasunequalthickness,blackandwhiteverticalbar,verticalbaratthebottomin13digits,thefirstthreedigitsrepresentthecountryorareacode,EANwillhave690,691,692assignedtoChinagoodscodingcenter,thenthe4numberindicatesthemanufacturercode,followedby5digitstorepresentthevarietyofgoodscode,thelast1digitsareusedtopreventthemisreadingthemachineerror.

(2)logisticsbarcode.Logisticsbarcodeisintheprocessoflogisticsasacommoditytothecollectionobjectpackagedgoodsforunitsusingbarcode.Standardlogisticsbarcodeconsistsof14digits,inadditiontofirstdigitsexcept13digitsrepresentingthemeanandthesamecommoditybarcode.Thebarcodeisrelatedtotheproductionofmanufacturers,wholesalers,retailers,transportationindustryandothereconomicmainbodyoforderingandreceivingorders,sales,transportation,storage,warehousinginspectionactivitiessuchasinformationsource.Duetotheeventsoccurringtimecanbeautomaticallyreadinformation,soastofacilitatethetimelycapturetheconsumerneeds,improvesaleseffectiveness,butalsoconducivetoimprovingtheefficiencyoflogisticssystem.
