Thepressareshocked.EventheNewYorkpolicehavejoinedtheargument.Theyrecentlyspent$100,000ona“Don’tblamethecop”campaign.OneNewYorkpoliceofficersaid,“Weraisemoneyforthecitybygivingpeoplefinesforbreakingsomeverystupidlaws.It’sallaboutmoney.”
Theresultisalotoffinesforminoroffences.YoavKashida,anIsraelitourist,fellasleeponthesubway.Whenhewokeup,twopoliceofficersfinedhimbecausehehadfallenasleepontwoseats(youmustn’tusetwoseatsinthesubway).ElleandSergeSchroitmanwerefinedforblockingadrivewaywiththeircar.Itwastheirowndriveway.
TheangryeditorofVanityFairmagazine,GraydonCarter,says,“UnderNewYorkCitylawitisacceptabletokeepaguninyourplaceofwork,butnotanemptyashtray.”Heshouldknow.Thepolicecametohisofficeandtookawayhisashtray(烟灰缸).

钱的味道
多少年来,大型超市通过在商店里放入新烤的面包来散发香味,从而鼓励消费者花钱。
