Thereisnodoubtthatacommonlanguageusedthroughouttheworldwoulddomuchtobringcountriesclosertoeachother.Thoughitisbecomingincreasinglyeasytomovefromplacetoplace,ourinabilitytocommunicatewithoneanothergivesrisetonumerousmisunderstandingsandmakesrealcontactbetweenpeopleofdifferingnationalitiesimpossible.Manyattemptshavebeenmadetoovercomethisproblemandtheyhaveallfailed.Thefearofforeigninfluenceanddominationrulesouttheuniversalacceptanceofanyoneoftheexistingmajorlanguages.Awareofthisdifficulty,manylinguistshaveconstructedartificiallanguageswhichcouldhavenopossiblepoliticalovertones.TheyhavearguedthatalanguageofthissortwouldperformmuchthesameserviceasLatindidintheMiddleAges.
