（3）“祈使句+and（or）+陈述句”在意思上相当于一个带有条件状语从句的复合句。

3.原因状语从句
（1）原因状语从句通常由because,since,as引导。
Hedidn’tcometoschoolbecausehewasill.
Asitisraining,weshallnotgothezoo.
Sinceyoucan’tanswerthequestion,I’llasksomeoneelse.
（2）because表示直接原因，语气最强。
Because引导的原因状语从句多放在主句之后。
回答由why提出的问题，只能用because。
As和since语气较弱，一般用来表示明显的原因。
由as和since引导的原因状语从居多放在句首。

------BecauseIdon’twantto.
Ashehasnocar,hecan’tgetthereeasily.
Sincewehavenomoney,wecan’tbuyit.
（3）because和so不能同用在一个句子里。
初学者特别注意：
because是连词，其后接句子；
becauseof是短语为复合介词，后面接名词性词语，如：
后接名次、代词、动名词、What引导的句子作becauseof的宾语。
Westayedathomebecauseoftherain.
因为下雨，我们呆在家。
Manycarswereforcedtostopinthattownbecauseoffloods.
由于发大水，许多车被迫停留在那个镇上了。
Hisbusinesswentdownbecauseofcompetitionfromthelargecorporations.
由于大公司的竞争，他的生意陷入了困境。
Becauseofthesnow,thepilothadtolandtheplaneatanairportinanothercity.
由于大雪，飞行员只得把飞机降落到另一座城市的一个飞机场。
请比较：
Ididn’tbuyitbecauseitwastooexpensive.我没有买是因为它太贵了。
Heisherebecauseofyou（that）.他为你（那事）而来这里。
Helosthisjobbecauseofhisage.由于年龄关系他失去了工作。
Wesaidnothingaboutit,becauseofhiswife’sbeingthere.因为他妻子在那儿，我们对此只字未提。
Heknewshewascryingbecauseofwhathehadsaid.他知道她哭是因为他说的话。
注：
becauseof之后可接what从句，但不能接that从句或没有引导词的句子。
如：
他因病未来。
误：
Hedidn’tcomebecauseofhewasill.
Hedidn’tcomebecauseofthathewasill.
正：
Hedidn’tcomebecausehewasill.
Hedidn’tcomebecauseofhisillness.
比较以下同义句：
他离开了这家公司，是因为老板在会上讲的话。
Heleftthecompanybecauseofwhatthebosssaidatthemeeting.
Heleftthecompanybecauseofthethingthatthebosssaidatthemeeting.
我不能因为有个家就停止斗争。
Ican’tstopfightingbecauseIhaveafamily.

区别二
because所引导的从句除用作原因状语外，还可用作表语。
Itisbecausehelovesyou.那是因为他爱你。
而复合介词becauseof所引导的介词短语通常用作状语而不用作表语。
他因雨缺席。
Hisabsencewasbecauseoftherain.
Hisabsencewasduetotherain.
Hewasabsentbecauseoftherain.
但是有时若主语是代词（不是名词），也可以用becauseof引出的短语作表语。
Itisjustbecauseofmoney.那只是因为钱的原因。
Thatwasbecauseofhissickness.那是因为他生病的原因。
4.结果状语从句
（1）结果状语从句由so…that,such…that,sothat引导。
Heissopoorthathecan’tbuyabikeforhisson.
Sheissuchagoodteacherthateverybodylikesher.
Mypencilfellunderthedesk,sothatIcouldn’tseeit.
（2）so…that语such...that可以互换。
在由so...that引导的结果状语从句中，so是副词，与形容词连用。
其结构是:
“...so+形容词（副词）+that+从句”。
Hewassogladthathecouldn’tsayaword.
Thehallissobigthatitcanhold2,000people.
Motherlivessofarawaythatwehardlyeverseeher.
在由such…that引导的结果状语从句中，such是形容词，它修饰的可以是单数或复数可数名词，也可以是不可数名词；
名词前面可以带形容词，也可不带。
如果是单数可数名词，前面需加不定冠词a或an。
Itwassuchahotdaythatnobodywantedtodoanything.
Hehadsuchlongarmsthathecouldalmosttouchtheceiling.
Hemadesuchrapidprogressthathedidverywellinthemid-term.
有时上述两种结构是可以互换的。
Itwassuchawonderfulfilmthatallofuswantedtoseeitagain.
=Thefilmwassowonderfulthatallofuswantedtoseeitagain.
Itissuchanimportantmatchthatnobodywantstomissit.
=Thematchissoimportantthatnobodywantstomissit.
（3）如果名词前由many,much,little,few等词修饰时，只能用so,不用such。
Soonthereweresomanydeerthattheyateupallthewildroses.
Hehassolittletimethathecan’tgotothecinemawithyou.
5.比较状语从句
比较状语从句通常由as…as,比较级+than…等连词引导。
TomrunsfasterthanJohndoes.
Thisclassroomisasbigasthatone.
6.目的状语从句
（1）目的状语从句通常由sothat,inorderthat引导。
Westartedearlysothatwecouldcatchthefirsttrain.
Hestudieshardsothathecouldworkbetterinthefuture.
Weusedthecomputerinorderthatwemightsavetime.
（2）sothat既可引导目的状语从句，又可引导结果状语从句。
区别这两种从句的办法有两个：
1）目的状语从句里往往带有情态动词can,could,may,might等。
2）从意思上看，目的状语从句往往表示的目的很明确。
Speakclearlysothattheymayunderstandyou.（目的状语从句）
Jackisbadlyillsothathehastorest.（结果状语从句）
7.让步状语从句
（1）让步状语从句通常由although,though等连词引导。
Thoughheisyoung,heknowsalot.
AlthoughIamtired,Imustgoonworking.
（2）although（though）不能用在同一个句子中。
我们不能说：
Thoughitwasraininghard,buthestillwentout.
应该说：
Thoughitwasraininghard,hestillwentout.或Itwasraininghard,buthestillwentout.
8.地点状语从句
地点状语从句常常由where来引导。
Gowhereyoulike.
Wherethereisawill,thereisaway.
