AsPresidentKennedyoncewrote，evenaswegivethanksforallthatwe'veinheritedfromthosewhocamebeforeus-“thedecency（庄重，正派）ofpurpose，steadfastness（坚定）ofresolveandstrengthofwill，forthecourageandthehumility，whichtheypossessed．”wemustalsorememberthat“thehighestappreciationisnottoutterwordsbuttolivebythem．”

Today，wearegratefultoallAmericanswhodotheirparttolivebythoseideals，includingourbravemenandwomeninuniformoverseasandtheirfamilies，whosacrificesomuchtokeepAmericasafe．WearegratefultothecountlessAmericanswhoservetheircommunitiesinsoupkitchensandshelters，lookingoutforthosewhoarelessfortunate，andliftingupthosewhohavefallenonhardtimes．

Thisgenerosity，thiscompassion，thisbeliefthatweareeachother'skeepers，isessentialtowhoweare，notjustonthisday，buteveryday．It'seasytofocusonwhatseparatesus．ButaswegatherwithlovedonesonthisThanksgiving，let'srememberandbegratefulforwhattiesustogether．

Ourloveofcountry．Ourcommitmenttojusticeandequality．OurbeliefthatAmerica'sbestdaysareahead，andthatherdestinyisourstoshape-andthatourinheritedidealsmustbethebirthrightofallofourchildren．
