OnthefourthThursdayinNovember,AmericanscelebratethefeastofThanksgiving.ThisfeastisatimewhenthefamilycomestogetherforamealandgivesthankstoGodfortheblessingstheyhavereceived.ThefirstthanksgivingfeastwascelebratedbytheearlyAmericansettlerswhostartedthefeasttogivethankstoGodfortheirgoodharvest.

InAmericathanksgivingisthefamilyholiday.Itisonthatholidaythatallthefamilymembersmakeaspecialefforttogathertogether.ThefeastisalwaysheldonThursdayandmostpeoplehaveafour-dayholidayfromschoolandwork.Thustheyareabletotravelagreatdistancetobewiththeirfamily.
