1.课程标准相关要求
课程标准三级目标要求七年级学生能听懂较慢语速、熟悉话题的简单对话；识别主题，获取主要信息；能引出话题并进行交谈，并能在口语活动中使用正确的语音语调。
2.教材分析
本单元要求学生学会问路指路的表达，学会根据地图描述某个地点的具体位置。
SectionA集中呈现了一些方位介词并通过问路的情景输入therebe句型结构，训练学生运用该结构来练习如何问路指路。
该部分的难点是如何运用正确的方位介词来描述各种社区设施的地理位置。
SectionB是SectionA的拓展延伸，话题上，拓展了问路指路的表达；在技能方面，进一步深化听说技能，加强读写训练。
难点是要让学生将指路信息串联起来，形成完整的描述，并以口头或笔头形式表达出来。
3.学情分析
学生在小学阶段初步学习过therebe句型的用法，这些为七年级顺利学习本单元奠定了知识基础。
本单元内容是第一次出现therebe句型及相关的一些方位介词，学生应该能够熟练掌握therebe句型的各种变换，但在运用时，学生可能会对指路中使用的常见词汇和表达用语出现错误，如：
goalong,turnleft|right,onthe|yourleft|right,atthefirstcrossing等。
