Homeworkhasneverbeenterriblypopularwithstudentsandevenmanyparents,

butinrecentyearsithasbeenparticularlyscorned.Schooldistrictsacrossthe

educationalritual.Unfortunately,L.A.Unifiedhasproducedaninflexiblepolicy

Thisruleismeanttoaddressthedifficultythatstudentsfromimpoverished

orchaotichomesmighthaveincompletingtheirhomework.Butthepolicyisunclear

andcontradictory.Certainly,nohomeworkshouldbeassignedthatstudentscannot

dowithoutexpensiveequipment.Butifthedistrictisessentiallygivingapass

tostudentswhodonotdotheirhomeworkbecauseofcomplicatedfamilylives,it
