Netneutralityistheleastoftheinternet’sproblems

THEdecade-longdebateinAmericaover“netneutrality”—theassumptionthatallinternettraffic,nomatteritsoriginorpurpose,shouldbetreatedequally—isinchingtowardssomeformofcompromise.Internetserviceproviders(ISPs)likeVerizon,AT&T,ComcastandTimeWarnerCableareadamantthattheinternetshouldremainfreeofregulationsthatwouldbarthemfromlimitingorchargingbandwidth-hogginguserssuchasNetflixandYouTube.Duringtheprime-timehoursof6pmto10pm,thesetwopopularwebsitesforstreamingvideoaccountforhalfofallinternettrafficinAmerica.
