Bydefault,spanningtreerunsoneveryport.Whenanewlinkbecomesactive,
theportgoesthroughthelistening,learning,andforwardingstatesbeforeit
becomesactive.Duringthisperiod,theswitchdiscoversifitisconnectedto
anotherswitchoranend-userdevice.
