AfterPolonius’sdeath,HamletwassendtoEngland,andOpheliawasaffectedbythestimulus.Oneday,shewalkedalongtheriver,andwassosadthatshedidn’tkeephereyesonhertheroad,andwasdroppedintotheriveraccidentally.Atthesametime,HamletwasescapefromEnglandandattendedherfuneral.Duringthefuneral,HamletmetOphelia’sbrother,Laertes.LaerteswasangrywithHamlet,hethinkhisfatherandsister’sdeathwascausedbyHamlet,hewanttorevengeforthem,sohechallengedhisrivaltoaduelwithHamlet.
波格涅斯死后，哈姆雷特被遣送至英国，而奥菲利亚为她父亲的死受到了刺激，有一天，她走在河边，因为太过悲伤而没有留意脚下，不慎坠河身亡。
在那时，哈姆雷特刚好秘密回到丹麦，刚好遇上奥菲利亚的葬礼。
在葬礼上，他看见了奥菲利亚的哥哥雷欧提斯。
雷欧提斯认为父亲和妹妹的死都是哈姆雷特造成的，因此，要求和哈姆雷特决斗。
第三幕
（一张桌子被侍从们排开,鼓号齐响后一队军官持垫鱼贯而入。
